PUBLIC NOTICE
02-07-2022

Crescent Sanitary District wants to thank everyone for their cooperation in refraining from sewer usage during the power outage. Due to everyone’s help the sewer system worked as normal. The sewer system has several lift stations that require electricity to operate. The District has designed the lift stations to have permanent generators that will automatically keep the lift stations powered during power outages. The problem is that due to Covid 19 the generators have been delayed for over one year due to parts supply issues. The ex-pected delivery date is now March 22, 2022. The lift stations have already been construct-ed to accept the generators when they arrive. The sewer district has an agreement with local septic pumping companies to help us keep the lift stations clear if necessary. The District is in the process of purchasing its own pumper truck as well. During the power outage the District’s sewer operator was on site to monitor the lift station wells and take any action needed to keep the system operating.

The District is asking that all residents and businesses that use the sewer system refrain from use during extended power outages. This includes flushing your toilets as little as possible and refraining from water usage like washing dishes and taking showers or baths.

The last power outage lasted approximately 7 hours and none of the lift stations over-flowed during that period.

The Crescent Sanitary District Board of Directors again appreciates your cooperation.
