New Sewer Service Connection SDC

New Sewer Service Connection SDC

The Crescent Sanitary District Board (CSD) has set the System Development Charge at $5,943.28 per tax lot. In accordance with CSD Ordinance 06.18.2020

What is a System Development Charge? A system development charge (SDC) are one-time charges to individuals, developers, and projects who are developing a vacant piece of property, redeveloping a property, or changing what a property is used for.

These fees are considered any time a new development, alteration, or change of use occurs within the district.

The District Board has set the following criteria for connection fees:

  1. All tax lots having road frontage access to the collection system shall pay the fee.
  2. Any improved or unimproved lot which is connected to a water supply and has a permanent or temporary house or RV will pay the fee.

New Sewer Hookup Procedures

Prior to hookup, you will need to submit the application with a check for payment of the SDC fee $5,943.28 and a Connection Charge of $3,038.76 if there is no sewer stub at the property line. *Fees subject to change.

  1.  Choose a Contractor
  2. Contact the Klamath County permitting office, to ensure you’re using the correct sewer materials and obtain any pertinent information before you start to dig. The county requires an inspection of your sewer line before backfilling.  Please follow county code rules and guidelines for sewer guidelines.
  3. Provide your sewer engineering plan to the CSD, who will forward the plans for approval with the districts engineering firm.
  4. If you are on the pressure system, you must purchase your own pressure pump and an electrical permit is also needed; power has to be run from the home to the control panel at the pressure pump.
  5. Notify the Sanitary District when you plan to start installation.
  6.  Have contractor or property owner install gravity line / pressure line from the house to the sewer stub. Do no cover the trench until after the county inspection and CSD operator has inspected the connection.
  7.  Call Klamath County for inspection.  Once the County has passed off on their inspection, call the Crescent Sanitary District (907) 433-2951 so they can do their inspection, and before the water test plug is pulled.  This way adjustments can be made to the system and be turned on.  The system has to be tested before the line is charged with sewer.
  8.  If you are replacing a septic tank, Tank Abandonment must be completed.  Please contact the Klamath county permitting office.
